Overview

Located along the Miami River, Casa Neos is a boutique hotel and eatery with an organic, edenic atmosphere that offers respite to visitors. An honest design approach welcomes organic and natural materials, blending wood, stone, metal, water, and flora to create a stimulating yet comfortable and soothing oasis. Open kitchens and bars invite guests into the activity of the space, and organic ceilings blend the interior and exterior environment, welcoming guests outside to appreciate the beauty of the Miami River.

The lighting strategy for Casa Neos reflected the organic, honest design of the interior and exterior environments. Surface-mounted luminaires with premium finishes were used extensively, allowing the light fixtures themselves to meld with the selection of wood, metal, and stone through the space to enhance the composition. Interior plant lighting was used as both a functional and aesthetic element, providing general ambient lighting to complement accent lighting on dining tables and creating engaging shadow-play on the ceiling to support the organic aesthetic of the interior design. Light levels were intentionally designed to vary within spaces to provide lighting only where needed, enhance interest, and create drama.
