Overview

At the heart of this retail, dining and entertainment district is the namesake 1.2 million gallon water feature themed as one of the many natural springs found throughout Florida. The 120 acre retail, dining, and entertainment district has four unique neighborhoods (Landing, West Side, Town Center, Marketplace) that tell the story of a town that grew up around a spring over time. One hundred fifty venues, including a Disney-owned and operated Burger Shop, Bakery, Margarita Bar, and Welcome Center, provide a lively, family-friendly atmosphere.

The lighting scope consisted of themed area development lighting for three of the neighborhoods and the Disney-owned and operated venues' interior and exterior. Over 300 lighting specifications with styles that range from Spanish Colonial to Contemporary Urban help communicate the town's evolution. Custom LED flickering lanterns were designed for the Spring, and a $40k custom chandelier inspired by the Spring was designed and fabricated for the Welcome Center. Custom lamp posts were designed to fit the aesthetic but provide entertainment lighting control infrastructure. Throughout Disney Springs, the lighting design reinforces the story of a small, quaint, Old-Florida town that grew into a bustling center for trade, commerce, retail, dining, and entertainment.
